This is a one-person site. I’m Mario, and I run kindoflost.com and the free optimization tools on its subdomains (the route optimizer, staff scheduler, Gantt scheduler, Roth conversion calculator, and the MLB, NFL and NHL lineup optimizers). This page covers what gets collected, where it goes, and how to have it deleted. Last updated September 24, 2026.
Affiliate disclosure
This site contains referral and affiliate links to credit card issuers (including Chase, Discover, Capital One, and American Express) and to a handful of partner services (Rakuten, MrRebates, Mint Mobile, MyPoints). If you sign up or make a purchase through one of these links, I may earn a referral bonus or commission at no extra cost to you. I only link to products and services I have personally used.
Financial disclaimer
I am not a financial advisor, and nothing on this site, including the Roth conversion calculator, is financial, legal, or tax advice. I write about my own experience with credit, tradelines, and personal finance as an individual, not as a professional. Your situation is different from mine: do your own research and talk to a qualified professional before making financial decisions. Credit card and tradeline outcomes depend on your own credit history and on policies set by each issuer or broker, which can change at any time.
On the blog
Visit statistics. Google Analytics (installed through Google’s Site Kit plugin) and Jetpack Stats count visits: which pages were viewed, which site you came from, your approximate location, and your device and browser. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. I only look at the totals. Google’s own policy is at policies.google.com/privacy; Jetpack’s is at automattic.com/privacy.
Security and delivery. All traffic passes through Cloudflare, which sees your IP address in order to block attacks and cache pages. Images are served through Jetpack’s image service on WordPress.com servers.
Comments. If you leave a comment, the site stores the name, email and (optional) website you enter, plus your IP address and browser user agent. Comments are checked for spam by Akismet. An anonymized hash of your email may be sent to Gravatar to show your profile picture if you have one. Comments and their details are kept indefinitely so follow-up comments can be approved automatically. If you tick the box to remember your details, the site sets cookies for a year so you don’t have to retype them.
Contact form. Your name, email and message are emailed to me. I use them only to reply.
Share buttons are plain links. Nothing is sent to X, Facebook, LinkedIn or Reddit unless you click one.
Embedded content. Some posts embed content from other sites (videos, for example). That content behaves as if you had visited the other site, and that site may set its own cookies.
In the free tools
Your data. The files and values you give a tool are used to run that solve and return the result. I don’t copy them into any log, I don’t look at them, and I don’t share them. The tools run on Render’s servers, and they use Google Analytics too.
The run log. Each time someone runs a tool, one row is added to a private Google Sheet. It records the time, which tool was used, your country (supplied by Cloudflare, not looked up from your IP), desktop or mobile, the size of the problem (for example, the number of stops or staff), how long the solve took, whether it worked, whether you uploaded a file or used the form, the page you came from, and whether the browser looks like a person or a bot. It does not record your IP address, your name, your email, or anything from your file. I use it to find out whether the tools actually work for the people using them.
Email signup. If you choose to leave your email in one of the tools, it is stored in a separate private Google Sheet along with the date and which tool you signed up from. I use it only to email you about the tools. Ask me and I’ll remove it.
Route optimizer. This tool needs outside services to turn addresses into drive times. Addresses are sent to the US Census Bureau’s geocoder (falling back to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim) to get coordinates, and the coordinates are sent to the public OSRM routing server to get drive times. Addresses that were found are cached on the server, so the same address isn’t looked up twice. If you’d rather your addresses never leave your spreadsheet, enter latitude and longitude instead. The coordinates still go to OSRM.
Who I share data with
Only the services named on this page, and only for the purpose described. I don’t sell or rent anything to anyone, and there is no advertising network on the site.
Deleting your data
Use the contact page to ask for a copy of the data I hold about you, or to have your comments or email signup deleted. The run log has nothing in it that identifies you, so there is no row I could match to you.
