If you’re curious about your financial health, one of the key metrics you’ll want to track is your net worth. In simple terms, your net worth is the difference between your assets (what you own) and your liabilities (what you owe). It’s a snapshot of your overall financial situation and can be a useful tool for setting financial goals and tracking progress.
Portugal keeps showing up at the top of digital nomad destination lists, and it’s not manufactured hype — the country has been actively building the conditions for it. Lisbon and Porto have genuine tech and startup communities. The climate is exceptional. The food is underrated. And Portugal has one of the more functional visa programs for remote workers in Europe: the D8, or Digital Nomad Visa, which replaced the older D7 passive income visa as the standard route for people earning remotely from abroad.
People assume tradelines are permanent — that once you’re added as an authorized user, that account lives on your report forever. Usually that’s not how it works. So how long do tradelines stay on your credit? For the purchased, authorized-user kind, the honest answer is about two months: you’re added before the statement closes, the account reports to the bureaus for roughly two billing cycles, and then you’re removed and it drops off not long after. Understanding that timeline is probably the single most important thing buyers don’t know going in.
I’ve been thinking about this phrase for years. “Chop wood carry water.” It sounds almost too simple — like advice on a refrigerator magnet — but the more you sit with it, the more it actually holds up. It came out of Zen Buddhism and it’s been bouncing around Western self-help circles long enough to feel clichéd by now. But the core idea is genuinely useful, and I think it gets mangled in translation more often than not.
