What would you do if you weren’t afraid? This is a question that has been asked countless times, and for good reason. Fear can hold us back from achieving our full potential and living the life we truly desire. But if we can find the courage to face our fears and take action, we can unlock a world of possibilities.
Coming up with a list
Here are some things you could do if you weren’t afraid:
- Start your own business. Starting your own business can be a scary prospect, but the benefits can be enormous. You’ll have the freedom to be your own boss and create something that is truly yours. You’ll also have the potential to earn more money than you would earn working for someone else. Of course, there are risks involved, such as the possibility of failure and the need to invest time and money. But if you have a great idea and the drive to make it a reality, the rewards can be worth it.
- Travel the world. Traveling can be an incredibly rewarding experience, but it can also be intimidating. You may be afraid of the unknown, of being in unfamiliar places, or of being away from home for an extended period of time. But traveling can also be a great way to broaden your horizons, learn about other cultures, and gain new perspectives. It can also help you develop valuable skills like adaptability and problem-solving.
- Pursue a new career. If you’re feeling stuck in your current job, pursuing a new career path can be an exciting prospect. It can also be scary, as you’ll likely need to learn new skills and potentially start at the bottom of the ladder. But if you’re passionate about a new career and willing to put in the work, the benefits can be immense. You’ll have the opportunity to do work that you find fulfilling and potentially earn more money in the long run.
- Speak up for yourself. If you’re someone who tends to avoid conflict or confrontation, speaking up for yourself can be a scary proposition. But standing up for yourself can be incredibly empowering. It can help you establish boundaries, gain respect from others, and ultimately feel more confident in yourself and your abilities.
- Take a creative risk. Whether it’s writing a novel, starting a YouTube channel, or learning a new art form, taking a creative risk can be a daunting prospect. But it can also be incredibly rewarding. Creating something that is uniquely your own can bring a sense of fulfillment and purpose to your life. It can also help you develop skills like creativity and problem-solving that can be valuable in other areas of your life.
- Make a major life change. Sometimes, the things that scare us the most are the things that can bring the most significant changes to our lives. Whether it’s moving to a new city, ending a toxic relationship, or pursuing a major life goal, making a big change can be scary. But it can also be incredibly liberating. It can help you break out of old patterns and open up new possibilities for your life.

How do I try to beat fear
One way to take the big step is to put yourself in a situation where you have no option but to do it. When I got tired of my job it took me two years to leave it because I wasn’t sure what I would do next. My job started to suck more and more every day. After a while, I started to suck at doing my job more and more and I even became, I am sure, a very unhappy and annoying presence for my boss and co-workers. I reached a point where I had no other option but to quit. And sadly that was how I reached FIRE. I didn’t know it then, it took me another two to three years of not working to realize I was never going to work again. In reality, I did some short stints working on projects but I knew they were short projects and it never meant to me what a job means to people.
